Kindergarten survey for Nayra

My little girl happens to be not so little anymore...age and size to be precise! She is going to be FOUR next year and her weight issue is never gone...she is around 17kg now, nasib baik tinggi so boleh la cover sikit kegebuan dia tu..

Ok..now straight to the topic, nak carikan dia kindergarten since she is going to be at the right age to enroll in a kindy, also she has started to feel bored at home, doing the same thing everyday. Luckily syamariz is now on maternity leave for 3 months so boleh la layan dia kat umah...bila dah start keje nanti, kesian pulak..imagining she has to play and do activities on her own

Walaupun sekarang syamariz dah ada maid but her hands are full with baby Nisa..Nayra unfortunately has to be independant, better let her go to school la macam ni...

Hmmm..okay the reasons i can come out on sending her to a kindy are as below:

1. Dah sampai umur yang sesuai (4 years old)
2. Rugi membiarkan kreativiti dia tersekat di rumah..better stimulate her cognitive & psychomotor skills early
3. Bagi dia belajar communication & socializing skills...sekarang dia macam pasif sikit dgn orang
4. Kesian dia boring duduk rumah
5. Sementara ada maid nih, boleh la hantar dia ke kindy dekat2 dgn rumah if not kena heret dia ke kindy dekat2 ofis la

A few days ago, bawak anak dara tu pegi survey 3 tempat:

1. Smart Reader
2. Genius Aulad
3. Krista

Smart Reader:

• Lokasi atas rumah kedai and very near to my house
• Layanan profesional, explanation very convincing by one of the teachers
• Sistem pembelajaran macam advance
• Teachers nampak very dedicated and tegas
• Medium of communication is english because students 1 Malaysia
• Maximum 10 students in a class
• Ruang agak sempit sebab banyak kelas
• Terima budak yang masih pakai diapers
• Makanan adalah snacks macam biskut, kuih or buns except friday dapat menu best sikit macam nasi lemak or bihun goreng
• Fees - anually around RM1472 (tak termasuk uniform, buku , insurans etc ada la dalam RM200) and monthly RM240
• Ada 2 session; pagi (8.15 - 11.15am) petang (12.15 - 3-15pm)
• Principle dia Indian so takde subjek agama...cuma BM, BI, Science and Maths
• Disember ada 2 weeks of class walau pun cuti sekolah
• Annual sports day biasanya di Sapura Smart School, Subang and Annual concert di Summit USJ
• September nanti ada open day..kalau register time tu dapat diskauns etc
• Lupa nak snap photos

Genius Aulad:

• Lokasi rumah kedai jugak and agak jauh sikit dari rumah, but still considered near la
• Teachers nampak baik, lemah-lembut...dunno whether its good or bad
• Tak banyak kelas..1 class for 4 y.o and 2 classes for 5 & 6 y.o respectively
• Because kelas untuk 4 y.o cuma satu so maximum dia amik around 22 students
• Ruang memang luas beserta kelas & perabot yang cantik..very ergonomics for the kids
• Tak terima budak yang belum potty train (masih pakai diapers)
• Makanan sama macam Smart Reader
• Fees - anually RM968 (plus around RM 100 for uniform & books) and monthly RM268
• Ada 2 sessions jugak; pagi (8.30 - 11.30am) petang (1.30-4.30 pm)
• Principle Teacher Mawar..a very nice and soft spoken young lady dari Denai Alam
• Subjeknya BM, BI, Maths & Islamic
• Penerapan agama yang sangat kuat..ada sesi solat setiap hari, baca doa, kisah nabi etc
• Ada one-to-one reading session setiap pagi..teacher panggil individually
• Disember takde kelas
• Outdoor event- ada lawatan ke surau etc tapi lokasi sports day tak tentu, tak tanya pulak pasal concert tapi sure islamic punya..tak merasa la nak tengok anak menari hula ker, joget ker hehe

Lokasi survey yang seterusnya adalah Krista tapi tak tercapai sebab dah tutup..syamariz sampai dah kul 12.30 tgh, rupanya dia tak ada sesi petang kot..takpe nanti nak pegi survey lagi kasi puas hati

Dah habis survey semua tempat nanti baru nak buat decision...sekian...

Saat2 yang paling manis rasanya bila jalan2 berdua macam ni dgn si kecik gumuk ni... Bila ni? Alah..lepas survey tempat my stepsister nak kawin kat Galeri Shah Alam, i took the opportunity to let her take a walk along the Shah Alam lakeside...so here's the sweet moment i had with her at the park:

Francais Usahawan 1 Malaysia

Alahai citer macam dah lama tapi tak kira nak update jugak pasal nie...

I went with 2 other lecturers & 2 groups of students to MATRADE Convention Centre (MECC)on 9th March 2011 for the opening of Francais Usahawan Muda 1 Malaysia organized by PNS (Perbadanan Nasional Berhad) with several other agencies. It was actually held for 2 days but we only went on the first day.

There were forum on the successful franchise businesses, which were moderated by *surprised2* my senior during good old UUM days...Prof Madya Dr Amy Azhar, and panels from franchisors & franchisees of several well-known franchise brands (Smart Reader, Focus Point, House of Healin, Acting Coach & McDonald's). The overall emcee of the day was Nazrul Idrus, which people quickly relate to Sazzy Falak..yess folks, he's her hubby. It seems that his company was appointed to handle the whole affair..i guess so.

As i am very into this type of business (cuma duit ajer yang takde), the topic was very intrigued indeed. They discussed on the advantages of franchise, what it takes to become good franchisees, the opportunities and also their experiences in dealing with this business...its too long and complicated if i were to jot down everything here.

For those who are interested in becoming franchisees but short of financial resources, worry no more...PNS is offering 5 types of financing to those who are interested aka "Skim Biaya Francais". You need to have a "Sdn Bhd" company and ready to pay at least 10% of the whole franchise expenses.

To cut everything short, the trip was beneficial and worthwhile as:
1. I've never been to MECC before
2. I love going to franchise exhibitions or seminars
3. You get free brochures of the franchisors involved in the exhibition
4. Goodiebags & free lunch were given to the audience

Tryin Tutti Frutti

Yesterday my opismates kak zura & mek sue ajak2 ayam gi try tutti-frutti kat cawangan bukit jelutong (cawangan lain kat sek 13, OU and tah mana2 lagi hehe)....diorang berdua ni dah try the day before tapi nak makan lagi so i joined them to have a look (and taste) of what this tutti frutti is all about....ye la kalau brand lain cam Baskin Robbins ke, New Zealand Natural ke penah la dengar and try tapi yg ini belum lagi..

Since the day before, i read about this ice-cream in a blog (refer fillanie's blog) dan macam dah kecur2 air liur so bila ada ajakan ayam ni hahaha apa lagi terus pegi la jawabnya...try jgn tak try!

Haaaa...macam ni cara dia...konsepnya layan diri, amiklah sebanyak mana nak pun janji duit ada boleh bayar..beresss!! Lagi berat lagi mahal sebab dia akan timbang sebelum anda dibenarkan makan...

Step 1: Go to the machine and choose whatever flavour that u want...the flavours changes everyday...on that day among the flavours offered are RED VELVET, PEACH, BLUEBERRY, GREEN APPLE, VANILLA, CHOCOLATE. STRAWBERRY BANANA AND ORIGINAL

I chose (clockwise from the top) : RED VELVET, STRAWBERRY BANANA & BLUEBERRY...wpun penggemar perisa cekelat tegar tapi rasa macam tak masuk pulak kalau mix dgn perisa fruits yang lebih nie

Step 2 : Choose your favourite garnish to put on top of your ice-cream....ada fresh fruits macam anggur, kiwi, mangga, and dragonfruit, ada buah laici dalam tin tu, ada aksesoris cendol, marshmellow, cornflakes, kismis dan coklat biji2 macam M&Ms tu...

Step 3: Timbang dan bayar...guess how much i was charged???? RM19++....makan hingga titisan air liur terakhir hehehehe....

These were what all 3 of us had on that day...sapa tak penah try jgn tak try...obviously i think its kinda overprice, setakat nak cuba tu ok la...tak pun sebulan sekali hahaha...kalau duit banyak hari2 pun boleh...budak sekolah kat bukit jelutong pun boleh serbu kedai ni tau..tercabarnya hakuuu hehehehe..

A Walk with Nayra

One fine evening at a shopping mall....

since nayra has started walking around 3 months ago, it is so enjoyable to let her roam free in a wide space such as a shopping mall , which is not too crowded like at SP...i will let her walk, run, look at stuffs etc with me following a few feet behind...happy tengok dia cheerful jalan tanpa batasan chewahh

Mama : "alamak kantoi hehehehe..."

alahh..budak kecikk..buat apa nak beli kasut mahal2 dulukan..rugi pakai kejap ajer : )




ye..ye..ajer minah kecik ni dok usha kasut crocs ori kat kedai tu...okla..okla..besday Nayra tahun nie mama belikan kay huhuhu...

haaaaaa....ni gambar dia merajuk sebab tak kasi naik escalator, sampai duduk2 kat lantai! Nayra ni pantang jumpa escalator....laju jer lari2 pegi situ....oh nooooo....jangan mengamuk guling2 kat lantai sudah la Nayra oiiii....

But anyway...this moment is sooo sweet & priceless!

Mini pelamin bertunang

Cuti CNY last week dipenuhi dengan undangan kenduri bertunang...

My stepsister, Sazilah on her engagement day...me no like this pic coz i definitely look fat..sebab tu minggu ni terus start program diet SDII hehe...will post about that later

Ni pulak kenduri bertunang kat Melaka...well i just want to focus on the pelamin, is it the latest trend right now to have mini pelamin (as they call it) during engagement? Fuhhh...makin trendy nampaknya sekarang, dah la kos hidup makin meningkat...kos nak bertunang pun makin meningkat, kalau zaman i dulu bertunang setakat duduk atas kusyen 4 segi baldu tu or duduk kat katil dihiasi cadar cantik lawa menunggu untuk disarung cincin.....sekarang nampaknya dah macam nak bernikah ye...huhu cabaran generasi muda sekarang

My brother's 27th birthday

My brother's birthday was actually last sunday (30th Jan) but we celebrated a day earlier at Chiengmai Restaurant, Sg Buloh...he turned 27 (gulp!!) yes 27 already but as he is still a student, memang perangai pun mcm student la hehe jgn marah yan...kak tasya dulu 27 dah keroje tau

Oh btw kalau ada yg tanya pasal Rest Chiengmai ni lupakan saja...bangunan dan dekorasinya sangat indah tapi the food was a little frustrating in the sense that it is wayyyy expensive compared to the the portion. Cakap ikan saiz Large tapi tengok cam 2 org makan punye saiz je aparaaaa.....jus buah pun takde, diorang pakai kordial ajer (what the ????) Baik pegi Thai Village Sek 13 kalau nk makan thai food yg best...tapi kalau nak menjamu mata ok laa, tempat dia macam berada di istana lama siam ajer..but kinda creepy if u ask me!

I read in an article in Harmoni about a new eatary in Sunway Pyramid offering hot new western menus with mouthwatering pictures of the menus as well, it really got stuck in my head....since Yas & me regularly go to TGI Friday's if we crave for westerns, we got tired of the same menus after the years. So when we came across the articles, the saliva kept on drooling for the delicious looking hot new place!

Last friday (July 29th) we gave it a try...and boy oh boy it was so worth it! Pada sesape teringin nk makan western food yang best beserta 'ambience' yang menarik..silalah try tempat ini di Sunway Pyramid!

Refreshing beverages...Yas chose a combination of mango juice, orange juice & lemonade while i settled for a lemonade with strawberries..
Menu: Bourbon Catch of the Day (fish or chicken). I chose chicken cos the fish of the day was Tallapia...i hate freshwater fish aside from keli goreng berlada and so that's how the chicken got served instead! It has yummy shrimps as sidekicks and on the sideline is mashed potatoes garnished with fries...last but not least, creamy cheese gravy poured on them. The only downside of it is it has no veggies...if only they serve this with freshly steamed broccolies/asparagus...yg hijau2 kat atas tu hiasan jer duhhh!!

Yas tried salmon..i gave it a passed cos it has rice. Bila makan western ni rasa cam tanak ada nasik hahaha..eksennnya! Well..this salmon offering has buttered rice and asparagus with carrots as its sideline. It tasted ok but if only they cook the salmon "well done" as i preferred. By the way this is the only menu that has salmon, so for salmon lovers..take this or leave it haha..

The ambience...rasa macam ada kat tepi pelabuhan bot2 nelayan di US, tapi sebenarnya tempat ni mengambil inspirasi daripada filem Forrest Gump. The whole place is decorated with momentoes from the film

2 orang kakitangan kerajaan yang sedang menikmati western food idaman...oh yeah lupa letak gambar desert, but you can clearly see it right in the middle...bread pudding with cinnamon, served with vanilla ice-cream on top & custard pudding around it, OMG so yummylicious...tapi sebab dah kenyang giler makan main meal, tak abis pun desert tu..luckily we ordered refreshing beverages to kill-off rasa muak tu...silalah try kalau teringin hehe

Family Outdoor Photoshoot - The Making

Setelah bertangguh dekat sebulan lebih, akhirnya my family jadi jugak buat outdoor photoshoot ni, sepatutnya on saturday (5 jun) tapi hujan tersangat lebat pulak di awal pagi, so move to sunday (6 jun)...it was tiring but fun at the same time, unfortunately mama & my siblings cannot make it on sunday kalau tidak sure lebih meriah....can't wait to see the end result insyaAllah by this friday (11 jun)..it's a great family experience, oh yeah btw the location is at Taman Tasik Shah Alam

Nayra walau pun penat & ngantok but still manage to enjoy herself berguling2 atas padang rumput tu..oh she's the main model by the way, siap tukar 3 persalinan!!
